Guitar Repair & Restoration

It is easy to find a repair man who happens to play guitar. It is rare to find a university trained musician who repairs and restores concert instruments. As a trained musician I use my ear and tactile sensations to find the potential of a fine concert guitar. My curiosity lead me to study how fine instruments could be improved upon to maximize tone, intonation, comfort, and aesthetics. This desire for perfection lead to embark on a journey to turn my hobby into a business. I only use the finest tools and materials to repair and restore instruments. My French Polish is hand applied in the labor intensive old world method adhering to their shellac recipe. I never use a brush, store bought shellac or inferior ingredients. Antonio Sanchez

This guitar had major intonation issues in addition to being difficult to play. I gave the fretboard a radius, new frets, 12 hole tieblock, relocated the saddle slot, built a compensated saddle and new tuners. Click for more pics.

This guitar was built for a person with large hands who liked a chubby neck. The new owner wanted me to thin and re-contour the neck profile with a "C" shape. I also re French Polished, deep cleaned and conditioned the ebony fretboard, and polished frets. Click for more pics.
